About ESN
ESN (Education Safety Network) is a not-for-profit initiative established to help schools improve the safety of their operations and protect the safety and wellbeing of their staff, students and other people. ESN focuses uniquely on schools, providing practical safety management resources, training and support to help turn safety governance requirements into informed care and effective working practice.
How ESN works
ESN operates collaboratively, with input from school system, education sector and independent school safety administrators and practitioners, and from experienced service providers. Grounded in regulatory requirements and current and emerging school safety needs, industry collaboration helps guide ESN priorities, product and service development, and practical and responsive support for member schools.
Steered by schools, built for schools
ESN's not-for-profit charter is expressly for schools. Services are informed by schools, keeping ESN operations, products and services focused on addressing real school safety risks, issues and support needs. That focus enables ESN to provide safety support that is relevant, practical and valuable in the context of school objectives and operations.
Flexible for school characteristics
ESN products and services are purposefully flexible and adaptable for schools because schools and school systems differ in size, structure, resourcing, capability and current safety maturity. This allows schools to choose and implement the membership, SafetyHub and EdSafe module options that best suit their context, safety management arrangements, and ongoing needs.
Enabled by experienced providers
ESN is able to offer its products and services affordably because it runs lean internal operations augmented by experienced external service providers and well-established technology platforms. This gives ESN strong capacity to provide highly cost-effective, reliable and accessible services, and to focus on investing in product and service developments that support Australian schools in keeping the people in their care safe.
